A key highlight of the visit was the meeting with Minister Libom, a strong advocate for leveraging technology to drive growth in Cameroon. Discussion points centred around strategies to enhance satellite communication and its implications for the region’s development.
“Our meeting with Minister Libom was very fruitful. We are assured of Cameroon’s dedication to improving satellite communications, which is vital for regional development,” Ashong remarked.
Boosting Socio-economic Growth
RASCOM, with its mission to provide cost-effective satellite communication services to Africa, sees Cameroon as a vital partner. Improved satellite communication can significantly impact socio-economic growth, from enhancing national security to boosting sectors like healthcare and education.
“Satellite communication is not just about technology. It’s about how this technology can be harnessed to transform societies and economies,” stated a RASCOM spokesperson.
A Pledge of Partnership
Ashong’s visit has reassured Cameroon of RASCOM’s partnership and commitment. This deliberation is seen as a stepping stone towards fostering stronger ties between RASCOM and its member states.
“We understand the unique needs and challenges of our member states. Our objective is to work hand in hand with them to realize the full potential of satellite communication,” Ashong said.
Looking Ahead
With the successful visit, both parties are looking forward to implementing strategies discussed. The focus will be on leveraging satellite technology to drive growth, improve connectivity, and foster digital inclusion across the region.
“As we move forward, we remain committed to our mission. Together with our member states like Cameroon, we aim to significantly transform the digital landscape of Africa,” the RASCOM spokesperson concluded.
